How long is a trial lesson and what will we do during a trial lesson?A trial lesson lasts no more than one half and has been set up for you to get to know me a little before you pay for a package as well as for you to decide if you want to work with me to improve your language skills. During the trial lesson you can ask questions, find out more about my teaching methods, discuss your goals and needs etc. If you are happy to go ahead with lessons, we will also check our connectivity to ensure that lessons will run smoothly.

How long is a lesson?Each lesson in 60 minutes.

How do I book a lesson?To book a lesson you will first need to pay for a package. Once you have chosen the package that best suits your needs, you will be directed to the calendar to book your lesson/s.

Can I cancel a lesson?Yes, however lessons must be cancelled with at least 24 hours notice . If you cancel on the day of your scheduled lesson, you will lose that lesson and it will NOT be rescheduled for a different day.

What technology do use during a lesson?I use Skype/Zoom, a webcam and headset.

What happens if I am late for a lesson?If you know you are going to be late for a lesson, then please let me know as soon as you can. Unfortunately, your lesson will only run for the allocated time. So for example, if your lesson was to begin at 1:00pm and end at 2:00pm and you were 15 minutes late, your lesson would still end at 2:00pm.

Do lessons expire?Yes. Lessons must be booked within three months from date of purchase.

Can I get a refund?Once you have decided to join the course and made payment, NO refunds will be given. The FREE lesson has been provided so that you can decide before you pay for the course if you want to join or not.

What happens if I miss a lesson?Unfortunately, the lesson is forfeited. If you want the worksheets that may have been handed out during the missed lesson, please email me.

What teaching methods do you use in the lesson?I use a variety of teaching methods which mainly depends on your learning objectives and preferred learning style. For example, if you prefer a more structured approach, then I will use a coursebook. If on the other hand, you prefer a more relaxed approach, then lessons will be based on dialogue and feedback. I also combine the two with worksheets, texts, listening tasks etc.

Do you give homework?Yes, I believe that homework is a good way to solidify what you have learned. If however you do not want homework or you are too busy, then that is your decision.

How can I pay for lessons?Online lessons are paid via Paypal. Lessons in Maidstone are paid in cash or via Internet transfer. Please ask the teacher for banking details.

Is your website secure for making payments?Yes, you are covered through Paypal's Purchase Protection policy.

What do I need for the lesson?For online lessons, you will need a microphone headset for better audio quality, a PC/ipad and a reliable internet connection. For local lessons, you will need a pen and a notebook.

Can I use my phone to have a lesson?No, lessons will need to be conducted on a PC or Ipad.

How fast does my internet connection need to be?You must have a reliable broadband connection. When we meet for a trial lesson, we will have a chance to test your connection. If your connection is not fast enough to support Skype/Zoom, we won’t be able to have lessons together. The optimum speed for lessons is around 20Mbps.

What happens if we have an internet connection problem during an online lesson?Problems with ithe nternet connection can happen at any time. If a problem occurs and it is my fault and I am unable to fix it, we will reschedule the lesson. However, if the problem is on your side and you are unable to fix it, then the lesson will be forfeited.
